Ajeenkya DY Patil University Hosts Transformative Workshop with HAL Expert Dr. Lakshman Singh

Pune (Maharashtra) [India], April 21: Ajeenkya DY Patil University (ADYPU), in association with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), successfully conducted an exclusive workshop on “Defence Avionics, Optronics & Technology Transfer” at the ADYPU Auditorium on Charholi Campus.

More than 300 students and faculty members from Aerospace, Defence and related engineering streams participated in the event with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The chief guest for the event was Dr. Lakshman Singh, Chief Manager (Projects) at HAL, an accomplished professional with over 19 years of experience in working on project and operations management in the aerospace domain. Dr. Singh, as the Chief Guest and keynote speaker, provided important information on the practical challenges and innovations in Defence Avionics and Transfer of Technology (ToT) practices in defence manufacturing.

Dr. Singh highlighted HAL’s strategic role in developing indigenous technological capabilities and bridging the gap between academia and products relevant to the battlefield in his address. “This kind of workshop is critical in sparking the next generation of engineers and inventors,” he said.

The session, held by the ADYPU DRIF (Defence Research & Innovation Foundation), triggered engaging dialogues on defence tech advancements, policy-making, project planning, and future career paths in the aerospace domain, with students exploring topics ranging from semiconductor electronics to supply chain systems and obsolescence management.

This impactful event was made possible through the visionary leadership and unwavering support of key university officials, including Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain – Vice chancellor, Dr. Kamaljeet Kaur Sidhu – Vice President, Dr. Santosh Borde, Ms. Rebika Singh and Dr. M Suresh Kumar, whose commitment to fostering research-driven, industry-oriented education laid the foundation for its success.

Dr. Ajeenkya D. Y.
