Child Help Foundation Celebrated ‘Daan Utsav’ at a Massive Scale by Making Donations to Underprivileged

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 25: Child Help Foundation (CHF), a pan-India, non-profit organization organized the ‘Daan Utsav’ Activity for a week in October 2023. Daan Utsav is celebrated every year from the 2nd to the 8th of October. It is India’s biggest festival of ‘Giving’ during which people come together and perform acts of kindness by donating their time, belongings or money in various ways.

This initiative of Daan Utsav by Child Help Foundation was planned in various cities across India like Mumbai, Haryana, Kerala, Visakhapatnam, and Kolkata. In the first week of October ‘23.

Under Daan Utsav’s initiative, the volunteers of the NGO distributed notebooks, t-shirts, baby sacks, and nutrition kits, fed animals, served tuberculosis patients and distributed blankets.

Commenting on Child Help Foundation’s contribution towards society through the Daan Utsav program, Mr. Shaji Varghese, Chief Executive Officer of ChildHelp Foundation said, “The idea of Daan Utsav came with the need to create a trend of giving. This trend with full force has the capacity to create donations on a large scale. I have seen many Daan Utsavs, but this year has been one of the most successful so far. Below are the activities conducted by Child Help Foundation(CHF) duringDaan Utsav 2023:

Notebook Distribution: Child Help Foundation organized notebook distribution for underprivileged students at Karce Ashram School in Vikramgad, and Kurinji Ashram School in Palghar, Maharashtra. A total of 613 notebooks were distributed, which will ease the financial burden of the parents and also help the students in their studies.

This campaign was done in association with Filaantro a well-known crowdfunding platform and IIFL Foundation. The NGO distributed notebooks and T-shirts to 216 students of St. Mary’s LP School in Chellanam, Kerala as well.

Baby Sack Distribution: Child Help Foundation conducted a baby sleeping sack distribution drive in Rewari, Haryana. The distribution drive was graced in the presence of Ms. Shalu Yadav, District Program Officer, Women and Child Development Division, Rewari, Haryana. The Baby Sack Distribution drive was also conducted in other parts of the country as well like Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai Suburban, Maharashtra.

Nutrition Kit Distribution for tuberculosis patients: The Foundation teamed up with Filaantro(Crowdfunding platform), Brihan mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), and National Tuberculosis Elimination Program, to conduct a nutrition kit distribution in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Clothes Distribution: Child Help Foundation and Filaantro conducted a clothes distribution drive in the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. Clothes were distributed to needy children, who could not afford to buy clothes.

Feeding Stray Animals: The NGO and Filaantro conducted a feeding drive for stray animals in Mumbai Suburban, Maharashtra.

Stationary Distribution: The NGO and Filaantro distributed stationery kits to needy students in Mumbai Suburban, Maharashtra and donated a glass board to Murbad Ashram School in Palghar, Maharashtra.

Blanket Distribution: CHF and Filaantro conducted a blanket distribution drive for the denizens of Kaju Pada, Thane, Maharashtra.

In this initiative the organization got full support from four petrol stations located in Andheri, Vile Parle, Bandra and Kandivali in Mumbai, Maharashtra. And the funds generated was utilized in the successful execution of the Daan Utsav drive.

Child Help Foundation is one of the biggest NGOs in India which works across all parts of India to support the needy and underprivileged. The NGO primarily work for children Health, Education and Nutrition. Alongside, they also work for humanitarian relief, gender equality, village development, clean water supply, sanitation, marine lives and land animals.
